A CHAMPIONSHIP club has made a failed loan approach for highly-rated Blues midfielder Damien Mozika.
The unnamed club wanted to sign the Frenchman on loan with a view to making the deal permanent once the January transfer window opens.
But they have been told by Chester that Mozika is staying put – for the time being at least.
Blues owner Stephen Vaughan said: “The enquiry came from a Championship club who wanted to take Damien initially on loan, with a view to a permanent transfer.
“Quite frankly that sort of deal doesn’t appeal to us. We want Damien to be a part of our immediate future.
“If the club came back early in the new year with a firm proposal then we would talk to them again, but we aren’t interested in a loan arrangement.”
Mozika, 21, has made only six competitive appearances for the Blues since signing from AS Nancy on a free transfer in the summer. His performances have attracted several scouts to the Deva and on Saturday he scored his first goal for the club in a 1-1 draw with Bury.
Meanwhile, Wayne Allison has been given the City assistant manager’s job on a permanent basis. The former Huddersfield, Bristol City and Tranmere striker has been helping boss Simon Davies with coaching since the sacking of Huw Griffiths last month.
