Davies heaps praise on French trialist Mozika
DAMIEN Mozika made a positive impression on Blues boss Simon Davies at the Deva last night.
The on-trial former AS Nancy midfielder played the full 90 minutes of Chester’s 3-1 friendly defeat to Carlisle United.
Frenchman Mozika, 21, slotted in well on the left side of a three-man midfield and did his chances of earning a permanent deal no harm.
Davies said: "He did ever so well throughout the game. He played for the full 90 minutes, which we wanted him to do, and his fitness isn’t a problem.
"He’s telling us he can get stronger than that. He’s looking ever so good and he gets on well with the lads. He’s done himself no harm."
Davies, who handed a debut to summer signing Paul Taylor in the second half, added: "Carlisle are a quality team so we knew it was going to be a good test for us.
"I was quite pleased with our performance, the way we passed it about against a good team and give them a run for their money.
"But I’m still concerned about the goals we are leaking. To be fair, John (Danby) was the first to put his hand up and say he might have been at fault for a goal or two."
Chester’s next pre-season game is at home to Swansea City on Thursday, July 31 (7.45pm).
