Butler and Dinning back on board as Lowe joins from Crewe

A BUSY day at the Deva Stadium yesterday saw Chester City sign Ryan Lowe and patch up their differences with two out-of-favour players.

Tony Dinning and former skipper Paul Butler are now back in the fold having held clear-the-air talks with boss Simon Davies.

The experienced pair were axed by Davies in April following a dispute, but both have now penned one-year contract extensions that will keep them at the club until next summer.

Davies said: “There was a dispute, however after talks the two players are willing to give their all for the club which is pleasing.”

Liverpool-born Lowe, 29, has signed for Chester from Crewe Alexandra on a two-year deal. The talented forward played for the Blues between 2005 and 2006, leaving for Gresty Road after a bust-up with former City boss Mark Wright.

Davies said: “He will be good for us. He has a bubbly personality and on the field when he is on the ball his play is exceptional.”

Lowe is Chester’s fifth summer signing – following Anthony Barry, David Mannix, Jay Harris and Paul Taylor (loan).
