Fans’ free ticket

BLUES fans attending tomorrow’s home game with Lincoln City will be given a voucher which gets them into City’s rearranged derby with Stockport County free.

The original County game was abandoned last month after an hour when the referee decided the Deva Stadium pitch was waterlogged. It was this week rearranged for Tuesday, April 29 (kick-off 7.45pm) and any Chester fan who goes along to the Deva tomorrow will effectively be gaining admission for two games for the price of one.

Stockport will receive 2,000 tickets to be distributed to their supporters and will take up two sides of the ground – the APC Overnight Stand and Liversage Stand.

Because of this, all Chester fans with season tickets for the Liversage Stand are asked to call into the ticket office before tomorrow’s Lincoln game to exchange voucher E for a free Vaughan Stand ticket for the Stockport clash.

Season ticket holders in the Vaughan Stand and Harry McNally terrace should just produce voucher E on the night of the County fixture.

Awayday details

WYCOMBE Wanderers have sent Chester City their allocation of tickets for their visit to Adams Park on Saturday, April 17.

Chester supporters will be accommodated in the BCUC Stand, blocks V and H. The match is not all ticket for Blues supporters, but Wycombe are advising that all tickets are purchased in advance due to high demand from Celtic supporters. Bhoys followers have been invited to Adams Park to celebrate ‘Celtic Day’ in recognition of the strong links between the clubs.

Tickets will be available for sale at reduced prices from the Deva Stadium ticket office priced £15 for adults in advance (they are £17 on matchday).

Senior Citizens (over 65) and students (with valid ID card) pay £12 in advance (£14 on matchday); juniors under 16 £8 in advance (£10 on matchday); disabled and carer £14 in advance (£16 on matchday).

The ticket office will be open from 10am-4pm during the week except on Friday, April 16 when the office will be open from 10am-noon.

Lilywhites beaten

PRESTON North End are the latest team in the FA Puma Youth Alliance to taste defeat at the hands of Chester City’s youngsters as the Blues defeated their visitors 1-0.

Playing against a very strong North End outfit at the Airfield on Saturday, the Blues defended well with the wind in their faces.

Paul Dorman was the busier of the two keepers and pulled off a couple of fine saves.

City also gave a debut to under 16s player Ryan Davidson who has been offered a scholarship for next season.

In the second half, City got to grips with the wind at their backs and scored the only goal of the game towards the end.

City won a free kick 30-yards out and in a well practised routine Chris Newman’s pin-point delivery was met by Jack Rowlands, who smashed the ball into the roof of the net.

City’s reserve team also beat Preston North End, this time after making the short journey up the M6 on Wednesday.

The Blues returned victorious with a 2-1 victory. Both of Chester’s goals were scored by Lloyd Ellams.

Getting together

CITY held their first AGM since the early 1990s last night.

The club has not had an annual general meeting, where shareholders are able to scrutinise in detail the club as a business and formally discuss with the board any issues, since they moved to the Deva Stadium in 1992.

The meeting took place after The Chronicle went to press
