BLUES officials were still waiting to finalise a date for the club’s rearranged match against Stockport County as The Chronicle went to press yesterday.
It is thought the Cheshire derby – which was abandoned due to a waterlogged Deva Stadium pitch on Saturday – will take place on a Tuesday towards the end of this month.
A story appeared on Chester City’s official website yesterday saying that any Blues fans who attend the home game with Lincoln City on Saturday, April 12, will be issued with a free admission voucher for the Stockport game. But club secretary Tony Allan is refusing to make any comment on ticket arrangements until a date is finalised.
As reported on our new-look website on Saturday and in this week’s Midweek Chronicle, the Stockport game was marred by overcrowding problems in the Liversage Stand.
Too many Stockport fans were allowed through the turnstiles and had to be marched around the pitch and relocated next to home supporters in the Vaughan Stand mid-way through the first half.
