CHESTER head to the Racecourse on Sunday aiming to secure their first league win there in almost 30 years.
The Blues have not won a league fixture on their neighbours’ home ground since April 3, 1978 when they claimed a 2-1 success with goals from Ian Mellor and Ian Howat.
There were, however, two notable cup wins for Chester at the Racecourse in the 1986/87 season.
Harry McNally’s team registered a 2-1 FA Cup victory there on January 10, 1987 and returned in March for a Freight Rover Trophy tie, which ended 3-1 to the visitors.
The Blues claimed an uninspiring 0-0 draw on their last visit to the Racecourse on February 18 this year.
The Blues expect to take around 1,500 fans to the Racecourse.
Tickets are on sale from the Deva Stadium today from 10am to 3pm. They cost £16 for adults, £10 for OAPs and £5 for juniors.
There will be no opportunity to buy away tickets tomorrow or on Sunday.
