Blues in Hartson approach

CHESTER City have made an audacious bid to sign West Brom striker John Hartson.
The 32-year-old former Arsenal star – capped 50 times by Wales – is back at the Hawthorns having recently completed a loan spell with Norwich City.
Chester have contacted West Brom to enquire about the possibility of signing Hartson before the deadline for loan signings this Thursday.
Chairman Stephen Vaughan told City’s official website: “We have approached West Brom, with a view to taking the player on a loan arrangement, and then making the move permanent in the January transfer window. So far we have not had a response.”
