WREXHAM boss Brian Little was an interested spectator at the Deva Stadium on Saturday.
The Dragons were without a fixture at the weekend, so Little – who took charge at the Racecourse last Thursday – chose to go on a spying mission to check out Chester prior to this Sunday’s big derby.
Little rubbed shoulders with City supporters in the Liversage Stand as the Blues fell to a 2-0 defeat.
He told The Chronicle: “I was greeted very pleasantly by their fans. There was a bit of banter and they were quite jovial, and in their own way they were letting me know that they were looking forward to seeing me in a week’s time.
“I’ve been involved in football for such a long time, so I’ve experienced different derby games as a player and a manager, and I know this one is a massive game for each club and their fans.
“And it’s going to be a tough one. Chester are having a particularly good season, but on Saturday they came up against arguably the best team in the league.
“So I don’t think Saturday’s performance is one I will judge them by because even before the game I was looking at the Milton Keynes line-up thinking, ‘yes they are ready to go up’.
“I was there to remind myself of Chester’s individuals, and nothing I saw changed my mind that’s it’s going to be a massively difficult game for us.”
