TWO wins on the trot has certainly brought back the enthusiasm into our young squad.
Losing week in, week out was beginning to take the spring out of our step but now the whole team feels rejuvenated.
We know it’s only a start but we want more and have been going about our business with renewed desire and an appreciation that small details make the difference.
We have started concentrating on the process rather than the outcome. This in my opinion is vital as you can lose a game through sloppy work during the training week.
The last couple of weeks our attention to detail has improved and that could be seen last weekend with the reduced number of turnovers and greater share of rebounds.
Another important factor is team fitness. Not that we are making an excuse of it, but even now not everyone is by any means 100% and a couple of us are still a few weeks away from full match fitness.
On the positive side, when we achieve this, it should only help improve our chances of a play-off spot. The reality is that so far this season, we have played a total of three league games with a fully fit roster and we have dropped games, so now it’s up to us to prove our league standing is not a true reflection and that we’ll be a serious threat come play-off time.
One final note, it was great to have the Northgate rocking again and fans leaving with smiles on their faces.
Without the fans there are no Jets – so as players we are aware that we are playing for a whole community and we will continue to keep leaving it all out on the floor.
