BBL Championship: MK Lions 98 Cheshire Jets 115

GARETH Murray took centre-stage as the Cheshire Jets travelled to Milton Keynes for the first of two successive away trips and returned with their title bid partially reinvigorated.

The Jets proved they were not to be written off yet as they took the fight to hosts MK Lions on Friday night, Murray taking the weight off Quemont Greer with a game-high 33 point haul.

Greer himself refused to slack off, the in-form forward draining 29 points and Jeremy Bell found his range to add 24.

Paul Smith's Jets held slender three-point lead after both the first and second quarters and after falling behind in the third, Murray stepped up with two spirit-lifting trebles to spark a burst that gave the Cheshire outfit an eight-point lead going into the final stanza.

The Lions tried to close the gap but Murray refused to let them, hitting another big three that spurred the Jets on to a century win.
