Cheshire Jets: Stephen Gayle keen to go head-to-head with Mersey Tigers’ Nate Reinking

STEPHEN Gayle is confident he will be fit to face the Mersey Tigers this weekend after enduring a tough time in an exhibition match prior to the BBL Cup final.

The professional England side beat the amateur Welsh 106-65 and experienced guard Gayle picked up a slight knock. But he is keen to get into the Tigers – and possibly star player Nate Reinking – this weekend.

“They’ll be hungry after the Cup final defeat, and they didn’t look very prepared against Sheffield so you can bet they will now,” said the Jets ace.

“I’d really like to play against Nate, just so that if we win there’s no excuses.”
