IT would be easy to forget that the Cheshire Jets have two games this weekend, with all the focus on tomorrow night’s BBL Cup final second leg at the EIS against Sheffield Sharks (7.30pm).

But on Sunday the Jets travel up to Scotland to face Glasgow Rocks in the BBL Championship.

They will be hoping they have completed a major upset by beating the Sharks by more than 22 points to book a place in the BBL Cup final.

Sharks’ player-coach Atiba Lyons is taking nothing for granted.

“It’s only in half-time and it’s important we don't forget that,” he said.

“We haven’t secured our place in the final and we will need a similar effort to Sunday night this Friday.

“The Jets are a talented team and will be leaving everything on the court and we need to have the same mentality.”

On Sunday (5pm), the Jets meet the Rocks for the first time this season at Kelvin Hall and player-coach Sterling Davis expects a serious test.

“The Jets are a versatile team that have really meshed well together,” he said. “Jeremy Bell and Quemont Greer have been playing great basketball for them consistently.”

The Rocks saw two games fall victim to the Scottish snow last weekend and Davis admitted it affected the team.

“You just can’t understand how frustrating it was to cancel games due to snow. We already hadn’t played in nearly two weeks,” he said.
