Chester Marathon

The MBNA Chester Marathon first started in 2010 and was held on the late May Bank Holiday Monday, starting and finishing at Chester Rugby Club. In 2011 the route was changed to start and finish at Chester Racecourse which has remained unchanged since, the date was also changed to the first Sunday in October. In 2014 a Metric Marathon was added – at 26.2km (16.3 miles) this provides an additional step for runners wanting to move up from the half marathon distance and is the only metric marathon in the UK.
